Love On Top

First week of the year’s filled with challenges, surprises, and blessings. If every week’s like this, then 2012 is waaaaay better than I’m expecting. Thank you, Lord, for packing this week with lots of inspiring moments. :)

  • Sunday - Wrote my first blog for the year and had a much-needed girl bonding with Jessie over mani/pedi and dinner. It’s so nice when you have someone to talk to especially when you’re about to make a major life decision. Thanks to Jessie for the patience and the sound advice.
  • Monday - Productive day. I was finally able to clean my room even if I planned on doing it before the New Year. Haha. Still, girl got it done. I was also able to arrive at a decision after weeks of contemplation. This was also the day I received my first challenge for 2012. It got me so paranoid I wasn’t able to sleep. And yeah, I watched The Shawshank Redemption (1994) after putting it off for the longest time. Great movie. If you haven’t seen it, download/rent it NOW.
  • Tuesday - Acted upon thing which made me paranoid. Cried almost the entire morning because of it. Went to work afterwards and talked to my Executive Creative Director about work stuff. Good news is I’m now a regular employee. And yes, six months of hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. :)
  • Wednesday - Thought about the things I discussed with my ECD and realized that there is still so much to learn about my job. Our little chit-chat also inspired me to lessen my overthinking and just let the creative juices flow. My tendency to become a perfectionist has hindered me to come up with fine work really. I also need to rediscover confidence I may have lost over God-knows-what.
  • Thursday - This day was a blessing indeed. The thing I’ve been paranoid about? Well there’s nothing to be paranoid about in the first place. *insert big sigh of relief here* I went to work with a surge of much-needed inspiration. Had late dinner with Dad and our little bonding has made me come up with a new item to put on this year’s must-do list: travel alone. Doesn’t matter whether local or abroad but this year, it MUST be done.
  • Friday - Had my first client presentation for the year. I finally met the project’s brand manager and a heartfelt “Good job!” from her made my day. And yes, heels (even if they’re just wedges) instantly boost one’s confidence. I’m thinking of investing on more pairs soon. :P

There. I hope you guys also had an amazing week. :) I’ll probably just rest this weekend and watch movies. Might also finish One Day. I also miss driving (haven’t touched the wheel in three weeks) so we’ll see about that.
