What better way to start another year of movie whoring than with IMDb’s top-ranked movie?
I must admit it did not blow me away as I expected but the story was written and told so beautifully it’s easy to see why everyone went nuts over this.
The movie is about a wrongly-imprisoned man who, instead of moping at his condition, did his best to live a good life behind bars and inspire others to do the same.
It’s a heartwarming story about the resilience of the human spirit.

Props to the reveal which was crafted really well I was never able to guess it until it came. Haha.
Favorite scene: The inmates sharing a pail of beer (which they got thanks to Andy) as Andy (played by Tim Robbins who’s pitch-perfect for the role) looks on with a smile on his face. Brilliant.
